Rodney the Routemaster update
A new series of three picture story books for all children and children-at-heart who enjoy reading about transport have now been published by George Watson.
The series follows the adventures of "Rodney the Routemaster". Rodney was the name given to the first Routemaster bus that was bought by the Scottish Bus Group subsidiary Clydeside Scottish in 1985. Back then a popular booklet, "Rodney the Routemaster Comes to Town", was published aimed at children aged 2 and over as part of a campaign linked to the local introduction of large numbers of Routemaster buses.
After an eventful period, Rodney migrated to the Derbyshire area, and then much later it returned to London being refurbished on the way. Today Rodney, otherwise known as RM652, continues to work on London's heritage bus service 15, Tower Hill to Trafalgar Square.
Now the original book has been fully reworked and expanded. Combined with two all new books, they are "The Rodney Trilogy". All the stories are light hearted versions of real events that involved Clydeside Routemasters, as well as during Rodney's later journey back to London.
Available separately there is also a colouring book and wrapping paper. A wall poster that is included with the Trilogy can also be purchased separately.
